　　影片设置在一个神话般的世界里亚哈船长跟船员猎龙以获取龙油（维持他们世界的光亮的东西），亚哈年轻时因为妹妹被白龙杀死时，自己胆怯逃跑陷入深深的自责，发誓要找白龙报仇，并发明了战船，专门从事猎龙，被称为最有能力的猎龙人，其实不过是为了满足自己变态的报复心理，因为他的胆怯失去了妹妹，所以在他的船员中，面对龙时，谁胆怯逃跑就会被他亲手杀死，而亚哈的养女雷切尔的父亲就是被他亲手杀死的，而他却告诉雷切尔是龙杀死的，并从小培养她的复仇心理。伊斯梅尔作为赏金猎人加入了亚哈的队伍，狩猎船开赴龙的巢穴，杀死了很多龙，当然也死了不少猎人，最后在白龙的巢穴，雷切尔发现了死去父亲的尸体，上面还插着亚哈常用的长矛（白龙生活在雪山中，它可以喷火），一切真相都清楚了，雷切尔和伊斯梅尔愤怒的离去，而亚哈则被白龙掠去，终结了他传奇的一生。雷切尔和伊斯梅尔开始了新的生活。
